So a lot has happened in the past month.
For one, I just finished my 3 year fellowship in Cardiology! That's right. Monday was my last day. It was definitely a bitterwsweet end. I have worked hard over the past years, had many moments of despar, nights that seemed endless and tasks that seemed herculean, but I survived. I owe it to my co-fellows in part. Us graduates have emerged prepared, trained well, and ready for the tasks ahead of us. A unique group that came together to fight and survive in many ways. It was nice to have worked with a tight knit group, who will be in touch socially and professionaly for years to come. So a big shout-out to them!
Now I will start my next feat. My interventional fellowship at a prestigous hospital in the city. I am excited, anxious, and eager to start. Its crazy, I am 33, I have gone through so many institutions and years of training, and yet, tomorrow I attend another orientation! I wonder (and hope) if this will be my last year of "training" .... That being said, I look forward to a great year!
Now that is great and all, but the more important news is a follow up from my "Staycation" post. That pertains to my iphone. So after many pieces of advice on how to coerce the apple employees, offers to go to places in Queens that will replace screen for 60$, I finally ended up just going to the apple store myself. And within 5 minutes he looked at my history, saw that my iphone was replaced a few months back, which I explained was for "software reasons" (It was actually for some marks made on the rim by the bumper--real weak excuse). But nonetheless, he said that we will offer you one free replacement for a broken screen, but next time you have to pay. So in 10 minutes I had a brand new iphone!! How easy was that? I didn't need a cute girl sobbing (well maybe the next time I will...); I just had to walk in and ask! Again--amazing customer service offered by Apple...
Good timing too, I cant walk into a nice hospital as a new interventional fellow with a cracked Iphone now can I???
